Hundwil cattle show

Description

To the delight of the numerous spectators standing on the main road in front of the Krone restaurant or the Oertle bakery in Hundwil, some of the farmers parade in the traditional Sennisch style, i. e. in the tried and tested order of the Alpabzug and in the appropriate traditional costume of yellow pants with a red breast cloth or the traditional working day costume from outside Rhodes. On the stage, in Hundwil the Landsgemeindeplatz, everyone enters the area under a wooden triumphal arch decorated with fir trigs, flowers and ribbons. The cattle are tethered to long poles according to predetermined categories. The judging panel, consisting of experienced farmers, now begins its work. They judge the animals according to their beauty and performance and rank them in the correct order. The most beautiful animals are decorated with a wreath of paper flowers. Young breeders are also allowed to take part in many shows and exhibit their goats. Timetable: - The driving up takes place between 8.30 and 9.30 am - From 13:30 the award ceremony takes place - At 16:00 it is "Abloo": the animals are brought back to the farms - The evening ends in a local pub with a show critique and prize-giving ceremony Followed by a cozy party with singing, cheering and dancing.
