Seven artists. Seven dance stories. One production. With "Homage to ..." the next edition of the TELLING STORIES format at the dance center Sosta will be created in 2027. An elaborately conceived dance production involving around 300 dancers from kindergarten age to adults. The focus is on seven choreographic homages to influential artists in music history. Each scene develops its own artistic language and combines music, choreography, lighting, stage presence, and dramaturgy into an independent staging. The dancers are much more than interpreters of individual choreographies. They actively shape the entire stage course, take on different roles within the scenes, and are repeatedly integrated into new constellations. This creates flowing transitions, shared stage sets, and a lively tension arc throughout the entire performance. This form of production places high demands on all participants. In addition to regular choreography rehearsals, extra scene rehearsals take place, where the different groups are brought together into an artistic unity. Thus, many individual contributions grow into a joint stage production. An in-house developed musical overall concept forms the basis of "Homage to ...". In collaboration with a sound designer, each show segment receives its own musical signature and a clear dramaturgical structure. Music, movement, and staging interlock and give each scene its unmistakable character. "Homage to ..." shows what happens when hundreds of dancers work together on an artistic vision: a production where commitment, creativity, expressiveness, and teamwork merge into an impressive stage experience.
