Description

The Quartier-Kultur Kreis 6 presents the piece by DAKAR Produktion. A theatrical collage with people and puppets, freely based on the novel by Ödön von Horváth "Zum ewigen Spiesser". Munich 1929, Schellingstrasse, but not where it begins so nobly near the Ludwigskirche, but where it ends. Here, Horváth's gaze falls on the human comedy in the small and the general: Welcome to the cabaret "Zum Ewigen Spiesser" – in the panorama of depths and desires. Here, life is lived, loved, laughed, lied, and betrayed. The carousel turns, and the world spins along in the eternal game of appearance and reality, of love, dream, and eternity. Horváth's themes and the questions that trouble his characters have lost none of their relevance: How "practical" must we become to survive? Where is the boundary between self-preservation and exploitation? The piece won the first prize at the 2015 Heidelberg Theatre Days festival.
