Autumn Concert

Description

The concert program is dedicated to the sound colors of autumn – between the mood of nature, transience, and romantic longing. Works by Felix Mendelssohn, Fanny Hensel, Johannes Brahms, Anton Bruckner, Carl Loewe as well as Clara and Robert Schumann unfold a multi-layered musical panorama.
Particularly exciting are the personal connections between the composers: The siblings Fanny Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn shared an exceptionally close musical relationship. Both inspired each other and jointly shaped the romantic song and choral culture of their time. With Fanny Hensel's "Im Herbste," a long underestimated composer is discovered.
Johannes Brahms was also closely connected with Clara and Robert Schumann. From admiration grew a lifelong artistic and personal friendship. With Carl Loewe's "Gesang der Geister," choir, soloist, and pianist come together in a dramatic sound scene of mysterious beauty.
Between a cappella choral works and selected songs for solo soprano and piano, a mood-filled concert evening full of warmth, melancholy, and intensity arises, bringing the romantic longing for nature and inwardness to life and inviting the audience to experience the magic of autumn in all its colors.
