Description
With "Incision | Expression," the Würth Forum Arlesheim presents the first monographic exhibition dedicated to HAP Grieshaber (1909–1981) from the Würth Collection in Switzerland. Selected works (wood engravings, paintings, books, magazines, posters, and photographs) from the 1960s to 1980s are exhibited, including significant series such as "Totentanz von Basel" (Dance of Death of Basel) and "Osterritt" (Easter Ride). Organized into thematic sections, the exhibition offers an overview of her socially and politically engaged works, her music and poetic-inspired pieces, as well as her illustrated letters and a series of self-portraits. It reveals how "incision" in Grieshaber's work is both a creative gesture and an attitude — an expression asserted between protest, poetry, and spiritual depth.
The exhibition is complemented by an interactive dedicated space, the "HAP Lab," offering a personal encounter with the artist and her work.
