His soulful interpretations of solo acoustic blues have become his trademark, and with his sonorous voice and unmistakable guitar style, the Dutchman and Vienna resident is in demand worldwide. His tours take him through Europe, North America, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.
In the USA - where blues originated - Hans is repeatedly featured at the biggest blues, roots, jazz, and folk festivals. The US press called the two-time Amadeus winner and recipient of the Golden Badge of Honor of the City of Vienna "an international blues treasure," and the legendary Bo Diddley said: "A hell of a good guitarist." Hans has won several Amadeus Awards and Danish Music Awards. He was also nominated for a Grammy and the Blues Music Award 2009 in Memphis, TN. In 2018, Hans was inducted into The Dutch Blues Hall Of Fame. He has released over 30 albums, a songbook, an instructional video, and a DVD.
