20 YEARS OF HÄMATOM Since their founding in 2004, Hämatom have thrilled with their unmistakable mix of provocative lyrics, groovy metal, and Neue Deutsche Härte. Brutal, pointed, and straightforward, they still shout their socially critical messages and look back on two exciting and stirring decades in the music business on the "20 Years Hämatom Anniversary Tour 2024." Through extensive touring, spectacular performances at festivals like Rockharz, Rock am Stück, or Wacken, and noteworthy albums with stirring and committed lyrics, the band has gained a loyal audience over the past years and quickly rose to the top of the leading German rock bands. For a long time, Hämatom drove unrestrained in the fast lane, continuously growing their fan base and regularly appearing in the charts. The year 2023 also started well – the rescheduled dates of the "Liebe & Hass Tour" were a complete success. But on August 15, the shock came: Hämatom bassist Peter "West" Haag passed away unexpectedly after a short, severe illness. The next day, the band announced: "Yesterday our West closed his eyes forever. There are no words to express our grief and disbelief. We shared the stage, passion, and dreams for over 30 years and simply do not know how to ever cope with his loss." Instead of scattering in all directions, the three remaining members pulled together in the following weeks and declared: "It has now been almost a month since everything around us suddenly became silent and unimportant. A month in which we cursed life and, like children, searched for someone to blame for this painful chapter. Not a day or hour passes without thinking of West and no conversation without sharing stories about him. Yet there is also a voice inside us quietly saying that our world must slowly start moving again. With him in our hearts and thoughts, but it must begin to turn again." Thus, the band will go on tour again in 2024 to celebrate their 20th anniversary. For the fans, to get their minds off things again, and of course, to honor the memory of their deceased friend. "Admittedly not without doubt, but we want and must continue our story also for him. And because a band without West is simply unimaginable for us, he will remain part of the family.
