20 YEARS OF HÄMATOM Since their formation in 2004, Hämatom has been thrilling audiences with their unmistakable mix of provocative lyrics, groovy metal, and Neue Deutsche Härte. Brawling, pointed, and straightforward, they still shout their socially critical messages and look back on two exciting and tumultuous decades in the music business during the "20 Years Hämatom Anniversary Tour 2024." Through extensive touring, spectacular performances at festivals like Rockharz, Rock am Stück, or Wacken, and listen-worthy albums with stirring and committed lyrics, the band has built a loyal audience in recent years and quickly rose to the top of the leading German rock bands. For a long time, Hämatom was unstoppable on the fast lane, continuously expanding their fan base and regularly appearing in the charts. The year 2023 initially looked promising – the follow-up dates of the "Liebe & Hass Tour" were a complete success. But on August 15, the shock came: Hämatom bassist Peter "West" Haag died unexpectedly after a short, severe illness. The band announced the next day: "Yesterday, our West closed his eyes forever. There are no words to express our grief and shock. We shared stage, passion, and dreams for over 30 years and just don't know how we will ever cope with his loss." Instead of dispersing in all directions, the remaining three members pulled together in the following weeks and announced: "Almost a month has passed since everything around us suddenly became silent and insignificant. A month in which we cursed life and searched like children for some culprit who devised this painful chapter. Still, no day, no hour passes without us thinking of West and sharing stories about him. Yet, there is also a voice inside us that quietly says our world must slowly start moving again. With him in our hearts and minds, but it must start turning again." So, the band will tour again in 2024 to celebrate their 20th anniversary. For the fans, to clear their minds again, and of course, to honor the memory of their deceased friend. "Admittedly, not without doubt, but we want and must also continue our story for him. And because for us, a band without West is simply unthinkable, he will remain part of the family.
