Description
WEEKEND WORKSHOP Who is speaking? Through which eyes do we look as readers? For every literary text, this question is answered by the choice of narrative perspective: personal narrator, first-person narrator, unreliable narrators, to name just a few. But behind this central decision lies another aspect: the narrative stance. It is invisible, but it forms the architecture of the text and largely determines its tone and what the narrator actually wants. Show? Evoke understanding? Accuse? Make laugh? In joint readings, we explore this invisible aspect, also in our own texts. Try out, vary, become aware of your own narrative impulses – that's what it's about. For LENA GORELIK, questions of stance are central in these times, as can be read in her essays, youth books, and novels ("Wer wir sind" among others). This year, she published "Alle meine Mütter" (Rowohlt). KATRIN LANGE heads the Bavarian Academy of Writing at the Literaturhaus Munich. THE DATES:
