Description
A musical-literary journey to the East Gwendolyn Masin and Lukas Bärfuss make a stopover. With the violin and words, they tell of "The Journey," their musical-literary voyage to the East, in search of the cultural traces that have shaped Europe. Budapest, Lviv, and Odessa are the coordinates. They find the music of the nomads, of forgotten composers like Mykola Lyssenko and Zara Levina. They show how a Ukrainian lullaby became an international hit. And they come across the book by Marta Rudzka, an actress from Lviv, who was deported by the Russian army to the labor camp Workuta in 1940, and whose story leads all the way to Switzerland.
