Description

Nowadays, people aged 30 to 40 aspire to self-optimization. They make sourdough or banana bread, pick mushrooms, and collect watches. They learn to say "no" and to be more spontaneous. They buy houses, cars, and gym memberships. They follow raw food diets and have children. And if they still have time, they run a marathon. And what do Gurtner and Schenk do? They observe their generation very closely and reflect on their actions in a colorful mix of spoken word, comedy, and music, where their great improvisational talent is of course highlighted. The marathon symbolizes the busy life of this phase and ultimately becomes a reflection on themselves for the two friends, both in their thirties. "Marathon" takes you onto the race track. Without having to run yourself, you are at the heart of the action and meet various characters, from the starting shot to the finish line. For example, there is Tabea, who promises herself to say "no" more often and realizes during the marathon that she doesn't want to do it. There is Jean-Marc, who has fallen in love with his personal trainer and suddenly discovers that he is not a real person. A show about people in the prime of life, for people of all ages.
