Guided tours of Wildenstein Castle

Description

Wildenstein Castle in Bubendorf consists of a residential and defensive tower. Starting out as a medieval clearing castle, an aristocratic residential tower, it developed over time into a castle and country residence for Basel's upper classes.
The complex has been owned by the Canton of Basel-Landschaft since 1995. The castle, the farm and the surrounding area are embedded in a valuable, extensive cultural landscape with an oak grove, the 500-year-old Witwald forest, the castle pond and striking copses and hedges. If you would like to visit the inside of the castle free of charge, you can take part in a free guided tour. These are organized by Baselland Tourismus and the Friends of Wildenstein Castle Association on (including coffee and cake) and on the first Sundays from June to October.
