Greg Hutchinson is one of the most renowned drummers of his generation. He is known for his deep swing, versatility, and distinctive feel. Since the beginning of his professional career in the late 1980s, he has played and recorded with jazz greats such as Roy Hargrove, Betty Carter, Joshua Redman, Dianne Reeves, John Scofield, and Ray Brown. Hutchinson feels at home in bebop, modern jazz, neo-soul, and hip-hop-influenced grooves and has contributed to more than 150 recordings. He remains a sought-after musician on stages and in studios worldwide. Hutchinson's playing combines tradition with modern innovation, making him a defining rhythmic voice in contemporary music. "Kind of Now – The Pulse of Miles Davis" is his bold, soulful reinterpretation of Miles Davis's rhythmic legacy. Instead of dwelling on the past in this anniversary year, Hutchinson and his all-star ensemble revive the spirit of innovation and dialogue that characterized Miles' best bands. The project fluidly moves between swing, groove, and abstraction – a profound, modern dialogue built on the pulse once set by Miles' drummer.
