What started in 1996 with a group of enthusiastic singers is today a gospel choir with around 40 voices, in-house soloists, a professional band, and a versatile musical repertoire. On Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 6 p.m., the gospel choir "Preacherman’s Friends" celebrates its 30th anniversary with its big jubilee concert at the Christuskirche Mannheim.
The audience can look forward to an eventful journey through 30 years of Preacherman’s Friends – with songs that have accompanied the choir over many years, new arrangements, and musical facets that show how diverse the choir sounds today.
The program includes traditional gospels and modern arrangements, soul, jazz, swing, rock, and pop, as well as groovy songs with hip-hop influences. Sometimes emotional and quiet, sometimes powerful and energetic. And at a 30th birthday, of course, a few surprises should not be missing!
What has connected Preacherman’s Friends for many years is their very own Preachies sound. Choir director and founder Stefan Groß develops sophisticated and refined arrangements tailored to the singers. Together with the in-house soloists and the professional band, this creates the sound that makes Preacherman’s Friends unmistakable.
