Glitch Softcore: Sensory Hike to the Glacier Lake

A hike by Jamuna Mirjam Zweifel in collaboration with Maureen Zollinger and Charlotte Mathiessen. Hike together to the Glacier Lake (also Griesssee) above the Klausen Pass and explore your relationship with the diminishing landscape. Glitch Softcore – Sensory Hike to the Glacier Lake is a joint hike where you experience the landscape with all your senses. The focus is on the relationship with the melting glaciers. Calm moments arise along the way: slow walking, mimicking shapes and movements of the landscape, capturing sounds and gestures from the surroundings. Jamuna Mirjam Zweifel shares exercises from her current artistic research for the stage piece Glitch Softcore during the hike. She is accompanied by dancer Maureen Zollinger and dramaturg Charlotte Mathiessen. The glacier remains in view throughout the hike – whether it is still there, just disappearing, or already gone. 8:05 – 11:00 am: Arrival by public transport, listening to joint podcasts featuring voices of Fabian Walter (environment seismologist), Virginie Thurre (Swiss mountain guide and founder of Échappes, an eco-feminist collective), Fazil Onyou (dancer and activist), and others.
11:00 am: Check-in at Klausen Pass summit,
11:15 – 1:15 pm: Hiking with sensory practices and artistic inputs
1:15 – 1:45 pm: Lunch
1:45 – 2:30 pm: Artistic intervention at the Glacier Lake
2:30 – 4:00 pm: Hike back to Klausen Pass summit
4:10 – 6:54 pm: Return journey by public transport, space for reflection, exchange, and discussion. The hike is free, but participants must cover their own travel costs. The event takes place only in good weather. An info email will be sent two days before the hike.

General Information

The sensory hike to the Glacier Lake takes place in the picturesque surroundings of the Klausen Pass. Participants experience the diminishing landscape through slow walking and artistic exercises while engaging with their relationship to the glaciers.
