Sex work is polarizing. In public debates, it often revolves around morality, sexual norms, gender roles, and migration. Less attention is given to the social and economic conditions under which people earn money through sex.
Historian Sarah Baumann examines the history of sex work from labor and gender historical perspectives. In conversation with curator Marina Amstad, the tour provides insight into the historical development of sex work, societal changes in handling it, and the creation of the installation "Experiences Switzerland – Sex Work." It also addresses questions and challenges related to the museum's portrayal of sex work.
