Description

The Jewish Festival of Lights, Hanukkah, commemorates the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem in the 2nd century BCE after its destruction. The eight-day festival is mainly celebrated within families and among friends. And for once at MUKS, which, together with the Israelite Community Basel (IGB), invites to a celebration with lighting candles, Hanukkah songs, Wienerli, and Sufganiot. In addition to information about the festival and anecdotes from the Charmille days, our tables with games invite you to linger.
With Steffi Bollag (President of IGB Basel), Peter Bollag (Jewish Project Manager for Christian-Jewish Projects), and the synagogue choir. For Jewish and non-Jewish people of all ages.

General Information

The Hanukkah celebration takes place at MUKS in Riehen and is organized together with the Israelite Community Basel. The festival offers a mix of tradition, music, and games for all age groups.
