Guided Hike on the Martinsweg, Wittnau

Description

A historic, spiritual, and legendary hike. For all those interested in religion, culture, and history, the approximately 9-kilometer-long Martinsweg with all its legends and stories is almost a must. The Martinsweg is a beautifully located circular trail through the Tafeljuralandschaft west of Wittnau. Besides the ruins of the refuge Horn, used for over a millennium, a power spot, and a Celtic burial mound, it passes various Christian symbols. The path begins at St. Martin's Church in Wittnau and leads over the Buschberg to Horn and back down to Wittnau. After a replica of the Lourdes Grotto from 1902, a reflection path with 12 stations runs along the wooded slopes up to Buschberg, where a chapel, a power spot, a Celtic burial mound from the 7th century BC, and a glacial erratic are to be seen. Public transport connections from Aarau arriving at XX.37 are awaited. Parking: A few public parking spaces are available around the schoolhouse. We kindly ask you to travel by public transport.
