Description

Sometimes the old music from the Emmental sounds earthy and melodic, sometimes driving and lively, sometimes soaked in molld and full of melancholy. Friya perform and sing in the new program «herrjeminee» stories from Gotthelf's times, a wild era of upheaval and change, war and revolutions. They sing of great love, the Hackbrettfraueli, reform educators and orphan children, tightrope walkers and the Vagantenjegi, the Chilbitanz and new fashions, schnapps drossels, Knasterpfeifen, big politics, and of course the devil in Lützelflüh – all carefully and lovingly arranged and brought into our time. Friya play in the traditional string music ensemble with violin, Hackbrett, and bass violin. The music is spiced up with washboard, spoons, and drums. Together with the Burgdorf singer Martina Lory, Friya bring the Emmental to life again in Gotthelf's times. Martina Lory — vocals and hurdy-gurdy
