Description

Following the success of Amour sous Contrat in 2024, Jeanne Spaeter returns to the Pommier with her new creation, still at the border between sociological experience and performance. On December 1, 2023, Jeanne leaves Bern for Brussels, a city she doesn't know and where no one knows her. She takes nothing but a plastic bag containing the Friteuse Protocol and three panties. This Protocol, which she wrote, will allow her to become someone else in five steps, and will lead her to sell fries. Through this immersion in the Brussels fritkot scene, the Bernese artist questions how her own identity is constructed. Is it possible to deconstruct it and rebuild a new one? Jeanne Spaeter is a performer and actress. Her work explores the invisible scripts that govern our social interactions, which she transforms into performative experiences rooted in reality and often conducted within her intimate sphere. After Amour sous Contrat (2023), she continues her research on identity issues through devices developed according to precise protocols, experienced, documented, and then transposed into public forms. Friteuse marks her second collaboration with Nicolas Perrochet. Together, they extend and deepen their approach by developing a performative method and a unique language.
