Creating Peace - Without Weapons?

Peace visions or pacifism are currently being driven out of us by the harsh reality of wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. Even committed peace activists increasingly struggle with the dilemma that in some conflicts there seems to be no alternative to the use of military force. How can we preserve the historical legacy and the great goals of peace movements, rethink them in a timely manner, and continue to pursue them responsibly? And how can we restore the visions and voices of peace activists in the public eye? Two keynote speeches initially bridge the experience of war, as reported by an SRF correspondent in Ukraine, with the challenges that political pacifism must face today. Subsequently, an expanded panel with representatives of various peace organizations will deepen key aspects of the topic and discuss perspectives and options for peace engagement.
