«Joy, beautiful spark of the gods»

Description

Even in the Christmas symphony concert, joy is at the center. John Rutter's music combines festive warmth with great vocal brilliance; Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" sets the great seasonal reference point. The Lucerne Symphony Orchestra performs together with the Lucerne Girls' Choir and the Lucerne Boys' Choir, the Klangwerk Lucerne concert choir, and the ChorTon vocal ensemble. Thus, the KKL Lucerne becomes the space for a large Lucerne choir community for one evening. Unlike the family concert at 6:00 p.m., in this version Beethoven's Fidelio Overture also opens the evening. This also reflects another fundamental idea of the season: freedom, humanity, and the power of collective voices. Cast
