Description

CINEMA | SHORT FILM The Freeride Filmfestival 2026 showcases six films that tell stories of the extremes of life in the mountains – from avalanches and sailing trips to quiet stories about friendship and origin. All of them depict the same moment: letting go of control to move with nature. Statement by Volker Hölzl, Festival Director FFF: "In 2026, our six films tell in very different ways about the same experience: the moment when you stop trying to control the mountains, the weather, or life itself, and instead learn to move with them. Whether inside an avalanche, aboard a sailboat through the Norwegian fjords, or between myth and truth of a snowboarding career – this surrender is never lonely, but always carried by friendship and community. That is what makes the Freeride Filmfestival special to me year after year." . Overview of the films . Yin Swiss professional snowboarder Daria Fuchs seeks her connection to the frozen world – from snow-covered peaks to sea level, where she explores surfing and the elements in Japan. Directed by Morgan Maassen. . Inside Circles Director Dominic Knoppe travels with his friends Max Pflanzl and Tim Boehringer through Iceland and Norway – on snowboard, splitboard, and sailboat, always driven by the wind. A film about the freedom that arises when you stop trying to control nature and start moving with it. . Uncle Timmy In a future vision, snowboard pro Timm Schröder – "Uncle Timmy" – tells the children of his best friend Dino Flatz about his life between world championship titles, tough slams, and real losses. The lines between truth and exaggeration blur. . Kodo ?? A group of Japanese skiers and filmmakers based in Canada combines traditional Taiko drumming and the philosophy of "Wabi-Sabi" with the majestic wilderness of Canada. . 75 Seconds On a foggy March evening in Norway, freestyle skier Jacob Wester triggers an avalanche. For 75 seconds, he fights for his life in the roaring snow chaos while his wife Sofia waits quietly below. A direct film about chaos, fear, and hope. . Ferryland In the Norwegian fjord village of Trandal, home to only 17 residents and some of the country's best freeride spots, a group of friends returns to save their season against the clock. . 6 short films, 2026, 110 minutes, age rating 0 Regular: CHF 17.- numbered seat Discounted (Members KP / Kulturgesellschaft Klosters / Guest card): CHF 15.- numbered seat Discounted (Young audience up to 18 years / Trainees / Students with ID / Culture pass): CHF 10.- numbered seat Wheelchair user with companion (regular): CHF 15.- numbered seat Cast .
