FRAUEN Sing! Kreis Donnerstag

In collaboration with WOMEN IN MUSIC, this group is exclusively for women. “Women” includes all people who identify as women. In this group, similar to a choir, we specifically work on a predetermined repertoire. The idea is to stay with one theme for four weeks and then move on to the next. Everything is possible, from multi-voiced Taizé songs to feminist pop literature. Since the opportunity arose to participate in the Taizé service at the Grüningen church on Sunday, November 15th at 5:00 PM, we will use the weeks from September to November to learn the 8 songs that will be sung at the service together with the congregation and a flute ensemble. Sheet music and audio examples will be provided UPON REGISTRATION and upon request. Taizé services originate from a community of monks around the Swiss Frère Roger in the Burgundian village of Taizé in France. They are open to people of all denominations and are often organized by youth groups and ecumenical communities. A Taizé celebration offers the opportunity to have spiritual experiences characterized by community and peace. Instead of a sermon, there is a short input on a text from the Bible. Taizé songs are simple, short, beautifully multi-voiced, and are sung several times. Nina Widmer is a singer, soprano, vocal world traveler, and certified singing leader of Singende Krankenhäuser e. V. (SiKra) and is guided by the visions and concerns of the international network founded in 2010 to promote singing in healthcare facilities and self-organized health care initiatives.

General Information

The FRAUEN Sing! Circle takes place in Uster and is aimed at all who identify as women. In a communal atmosphere, participants develop a repertoire that is presented in a service.
