Description

Arthur Hnatek (pronounced Na-tek) is a Swiss drummer, producer, and electronic artist based in Zurich. His work explores the connections between improvisation, electronic music, and live performance, through a practice that combines acoustic drums, modular synthesis, and digital tools. His music has been featured on BBC6 Music as well as in clubs worldwide, recently on the decks of Laurent Garnier. He has collaborated with Barker (Ostgut), Stenny (Ilian Tape), Taut, Noémi Büchi (-ous), Ripperton, and Tillman Ostendarp. After earning his diploma at The New School for Contemporary Music in New York, Arthur traveled the world performing alongside pianist Tigran Hamasyan and with the Erik Truffaz Quartet. These experiences led him to develop his distinctive drumming style, which combines minimal repetitive music and improvised music.
