Ennetlands "Ennet" is a word that sounds like a call to come over. What lies there, what spaces open behind the horizon of the beyond? These are the Ennetlands. There, the voice of a mermaid in a water park in Florida is inaudibly heard, a glacier sings its farewell song, a homeless spirit from the Bronze Age glides through the forest in an old Mercedes, a mother through space. The musical spoken-word duo Fitzgerald & Rimini takes us to unreachable places in their current album and brings voices from the in-between to light. The new characters from Ariane von Graffenried's cosmos of misunderstood heroines and overlooked antiheroes cross the threshold into other spheres, sometimes infinitely far away, sometimes as close as the coming sleep. To these voices, an orchestra of sounds is added, recorded at places beyond the reach of the human ear: sounds from the depths of the earth, sounds of a distant planet, from inside a wire rope on which a ferry crosses the river, melodies of a reconstructed conch shell from the Paleolithic. Where humans are absent, other worlds whisper, rustle, and crackle. These sounds form the basis for Robert Aeberhard's music, which, fused with Ariane von Graffenried's multilingual texts, becomes exciting literary songs. They tell of journeys into the unknown with subtle humor and a sense of human longing. Fitzgerald & Rimini Six years after the release of the album "50 Hertz," "Ennetlands" is another poetic milestone on Fitzgerald & Rimini's unique aesthetic journey. With their set of musical poems, author and performer Ariane von Graffenried and musician and sound artist Robert Aeberhard have been operating at the intersection of music, literature, and performance for years. The duo performs in music clubs and at literature festivals both domestically and internationally. They have received multiple awards for their work, including the Bern Canton Literature Prize 2026.
