About the duo Gert Anklam and Volker Jaekel The two Berlin musicians Gert Anklam and Volker Jaekel blend medieval compositions, contemporary jazz, Argentine tangos by Astor Piazolla, and their own works into a enchanting dialogue of times and instruments. Sometimes Volker Jaekel digs into the depths of the soul with the bass voices of the organ, over which Gert Anklam playfully and cheekily balances with the baritone saxophone. Sometimes they meet in hymn-like harmony, sometimes they part ways on their own paths. They utilize the entire church space with its various echo and reverb possibilities.
