Four evenings, three castles, one monastery: Museum Aargau invites you to the lecture series "Festzeiten!" in 2026. Selected historical objects from the collection tell of rituals, ceremonies and festive cultures. An invitation to pause, marvel - and to reflect together on why people celebrate.

On the Wettingen monastery peninsula, the evening revolves around religious festivals, rituals and customs. This festive culture structures the year between work, fasting and celebration.

"Festzeiten!" will take place in 2026 at Wildegg, Habsburg and Hallwyl castles and on the Wettingen monastery peninsula. Each of these historical locations sets its own accents and illuminates festive cultures from a new perspective with historical collection objects.

The event takes place in the Westschöpfe on the Wettingen monastery peninsula (opposite the Löwenscheune). There are only a few parking spaces available at the sports field on the Wettingen monastery peninsula. We recommend arriving by public transport.
