Festival Sine Nomine

Description

For the occasion, the festival offers a weekend of eight concerts, built around the theme "Music through words." From Mozart to Shostakovich, including Schubert, Ravel, Beethoven, or Janáček, the Sine Nomine Quartet and its guests will explore musical works written or inspired by illustrious authors such as Leo Tolstoy, Federico García Lorca, Guillaume Apollinaire, Rainer Maria Rilke, or Edgar Allan Poe. Besides these great classics, the festival will also be an opportunity to present, at the opening of the weekend, the creation of Valentin Villard's work titled "Thirty-three Poems in Pandemic Times" based on texts by François Debluë, recited by Laurence and Michel Voïta. The true highlight of this celebration weekend will be the closing with the extraordinary "Symphony No. 14" by Shostakovich, performed in "camerata" mode by the Sine Nomine Quartet and many guests. A 2026 edition conceived as a grand chamber music festival that will skillfully blend discoveries, meetings, and long-standing friendships!

General Information

The 13th edition of the Festival Sine Nomine will take place at the Grande Salle in Renens. This musical weekend will highlight works by famous composers and will include the creation of a new piece, while celebrating chamber music.
