Felix Römer & Nachtfarben

Description

Felix Römer writes poetry. This has led him to become a master of German-language poetry slam and to bring his texts into the public eye in various contexts. Now Römer is once again exploring new paths. During the past years and amidst all the restrictions that the cultural scene had to deal with, Felix Römer worked on setting his texts to music. Together with the band Nachtfarben and musician Martin Bosch, what was already pushing towards the stage was arranged in such a way that a multi-layered, sonorous, and captivating program was created. Jazzy spheres and catchy pop lines, rhythmic arrangements meet poetry and suddenly transform into soundscapes through which Römer's verses are guided. Pieces are created that are tailored around Römer's sonorous, warm voice. The musical ingenuity of Nachtfarben and Römer's innocence blend perfectly. Not for nothing does Felix Lobrecht comment: "I recommend everything Felix Römer does, and if it suddenly becomes music, then it is suddenly music." And Henning May (AnnenMayKantereit) said: "The shitty thing about Felix's texts is that I didn't write them." Römer, who in 2023, among other things, won the German Small Arts Prize together with Luksan Wunder and is a multiple scholarship holder, hits a nerve with his new paths. A good one, one that doesn't hurt but encourages reflection and indulgence: an excellent tooth of the times.
