From 9 to 12 September 2027, the 15th Federal Folk Music Festival in the idyllic market town of Altstätten in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley will focus on cultivating the cultural heritage of Swiss folk music. The festival will be complemented by suitable supporting events, culinary delights and conviviality - as well as modern approaches that characterize folk music as a lively and versatile cultural form.
The festival thrives on musical performances in the pubs and traditional parlors throughout the town. The event is accompanied by a gala evening of folk music, various markets in the historic alleyways, entertainment in the marquee and a large parade on Sunday. The 2027 Federal Folk Music Festival sees itself as a festival of encounters and living tradition. Here, guests will experience the cultural heritage in all its facets: approachable, diverse and authentic.
