Jimmy López Symphony No. 5 »Fantastica« (German premiere), commissioned together with Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra (USA), and Gävle Symphony Orchestra. The commission was supported by the Messmer Foundation. Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64 Joseph Haydn Symphony No. 103 in E-flat major, Hob. I:103 »With the Timpani Whirl« Charlotte Thiele, Violin Paul Goodwin, Conductor Peruvian composer Jimmy López was inspired by Michael Ende's The Neverending Story for his fifth »fantastic« symphony. After a celebrated world premiere in the USA, the work is now performed for the first time in Germany. Dresden violinist Charlotte Thiele debuts with Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto.
