F. Dürrenmatt: Durcheinandertal

Daniel Fueter, reads before Vera Kappeler, at the piano Peter Conradin Zumthor, drums, percussion. In the middle of World War II, the twenty-one-year-old Friedrich Dürrenmatt (1921-1990) begins to imagine the attic in his parents' house. "A chaos in my memory of anger, protest, mockery, and ridicule," he writes in 1981. In 1989, his last novel "Durcheinandertal" is published, a visionary grotesque, a provocation. He had not become milder with age. His country, the Durcheinandertal Switzerland, left him no peace. In this reading, we visit – in dialogue with music and contrapuntally supported by music – the imaginary "Durcheinandertal": laughter and terror – the trademarks of Friedrich Dürrenmatt – are to be expected...
