Exhibition From Castle to Chateau: What Time Divided, Now Reunites

After long decades, the area of the castle and chateau in Rožmberk nad Vltavou has been reconnected, and in December 2025, it was taken under the care of the National Heritage Institute. The Upper Chateau in Rožmberk nad Vltavou hides the story of the transformations of one of the most significant noble residences in South Bohemia. The exhibition in the castle gallery presents the history of the original Upper Castle, its transformation into a chateau residence in the 19th century, and the changing fates of the building in the 20th and 21st centuries. Through preserved furnishings and reproductions of historical photographs and plans, visitors will gain insight into the development of this monument, which has not been entirely accessible to the public for decades and is now entering a new phase of its existence thanks to the planned restoration.
