Description

Even as a child, painting and drawing were Susanne Christoffel’s favorite hobbies. Through them, she found peace, joy, and balance—and thus found herself. She was influenced, among others, by the Impressionists, such as Claude Monet and Camille Corot. Light and shadow, nature with its harmony, colors, and moods have always inspired her. It was also important to her to create representational art. In the Netherlands and Hungary, she painted extensively outdoors and learned the technique of watercolor painting. She increasingly sought to paint more freely and experiment more in her work. Her most important teachers were: Erich Meier, a painter and sculptor (she attended his classes for 8 years). Later, Hans Schuppe, a graphic designer and artist, who helped build her confidence in drawing. Since her retirement (2021), she has finally had more time for her creative hobby. In addition to paintings, she has recently begun creating collages. She is thrilled to be able to showcase her diverse works at the Kemptnertobel Gallery from September 12 through 27, 2026!
