Description
On September 11, 2027, the first Everesting will take place in Switzerland on the historic Tremola road at the Gotthard Pass – one of the most fascinating challenges in endurance cycling. The principle of Everesting is as simple as it is demanding: the same ascent is repeated multiple times until a certain elevation gain is reached. In the most challenging category, the Full Solo, participants must climb 8,848 meters – equivalent to the height of Mount Everest. Starting from Airolo, participants ride up the characteristic hairpins and cobblestones of Tremola to the Gotthard Pass. Tremola is one of the most famous historic roads in Switzerland. The descent is on a paved road. Besides the complete challenge of 8,848 meters of elevation, there are various individual and team formats with different elevation gains to choose from. This allows hobby riders and cycling enthusiasts to approach Everesting and select a challenge that matches their abilities. Airolo will be the focal point of the event throughout the weekend, combining the sporting challenge with the opportunity to experience and explore the Gotthard region. Participants include Vincenzo Nibali, ambassador of Everesting, and the Ticino athlete Guido Toscanelli, Ultracycling & Everesting Local Ambassador.
