On the 80th anniversary of the legendary Dakota rescue, a unique commemorative event for the whole family takes place at the Meiringen military airfield.

There are original wreckage parts of the crashed Dakota to admire, historic aircraft and vehicles will be on site, exciting lectures will bring the events of the past closer, and of course there will be something delicious to eat and drink.

On Saturday, REGA will have a rescue helicopter on site and the well-known bouncy castle will be available for the little ones on both days.

Dakota exhibition at the Tourist Center Grimseltor

To get in the mood for the commemorative event «80 Years Dakota», the Tourist Center Grimseltor invites you to a special exhibition with original parts of the crashed Dakota.

Discover fascinating finds and immerse yourself in the moving history of the plane crash on the Gauligletscher and the legendary rescue operation of 1946.
