Erika Stucky is primarily known as a singer, composer, and performer. Since the mid-1980s, she has been moving between jazz, American folk tradition, experimental music, and Alpine yodeling with her distinctive voice and radical stage presence. With more than five thousand concerts on all continents, she has become one of the most unusual personalities in the international music scene. The singer and performer is now opening a new, very personal chapter: a photo book drawing from over 50 years of artistic observation. Family photos, behind-the-scenes moments, tour recordings – snapshots of a tireless chronicler. It is the world through Stucky’s eyes: raw, poetic, intimate, and unfiltered. In September 2026, her films and photographs will be presented at the Images Vevey Festival. Before these visual archives are shown at other locations in 2027 and 2028, they will go on a winter tour with the singer and performer. Her first concert in the German-speaking part of Switzerland: the Theater Uri in Altdorf! The concert and stage project moves between story-singing and song-telling. The performer synchronizes images and films with songs, life stories, and tour anecdotes on stage. Memories meet improvisation, archives merge with the present. She is accompanied by long-time musical companions: percussionist Lucas Niggli, a master of sound precision between noise art, rhythm, and experiment, in the tradition of film sound designers. On guitar, her Valaisan cousin Oli Hartung: the ideal melodist and musical partner for an equally personal and wild project. Sometimes with guests, depending on the venue. In Altdorf, the feminist yodel choir “Echo vom Eierstock” will join, with musical director Simone Felber. An evening between concert, performance, and road movie.
