A seminar for everyone working in contexts of therapy, coaching, social work, supervision, mediation, pedagogy, and medicine who want to expand their empathy skills and understanding of empathy. Learning objectives -You will know how to approach people with understanding, even if you do not approve of their actions or consider other ways more sensible. -You understand the differences between empathy, identification, compassion, regret, and pity and are aware of the respective emotional effects and can adjust your actions accordingly. -You know the technique of empathetic paraphrasing and know how to apply it. -You know the physiological prerequisites and connections for the application of empathy. -You understand the differences between "mirroring", "pacing", clarification questions, solution orientation, and empathetic assumption and can decide when to use what. -You know which interventions you can apply to stimulate impulses of empathy in others. -You know self-care techniques when your empathy skills reach their limits in difficult situations. -You know methods to expand your own empathy skills in the long term. Target group This seminar is for you: -If you work professionally with people and it is important to you to meet others in a way that makes them feel taken seriously and neither judged nor manipulated. -If you need to set boundaries or impose consequences without diminishing the dignity of the other person. -If you want to provide a trustworthy framework for others in which meaningful and helpful solutions can emerge. -If you want to stay connected with your own values and feelings in difficult situations so that neither you nor others have to suffer. -If you want to clarify for yourself when to choose empathy and when not. -If you want to expand and specify your understanding of empathy and gain practical experience through exercises.
