Émile is a stubborn child. Terribly stubborn. But above all, Émile is free. Free to invite an unknown grandma to his birthday, free to refuse to dress up for Mardi Gras, free to choose a bat as a pet. Driven by a bustling inner world and a sense of poetry, what others might think of him, he doesn't care at all. Beloved hero of a famous series of short stories written by Vincent Cuvellier and illustrated by Ronan Badel (Gallimard Jeunesse), the little boy is portrayed by the Molière-ized actor Guillaume Marquet in a tender adaptation by Nathalie Sandoz, which includes original animated illustrations. Through the ten selected albums, the De Facto Company then draws a wonderful fresco on growing up, between learning to live in community and defending one's own uniqueness. A refreshing creation that will delight children and remind adults to nurture their inner child! Nathalie Sandoz graduated from the Serge Martin School in Geneva (1995) and is the director of the De Facto Company founded in 2011. Actress and director from Neuchâtel (“Le Moche”, “La Marquise d’O…”), she offers a new perspective on Friedrich Dürrenmatt's cult work, “The Visit”. Nathalie Sandoz has translated several plays. She has performed in French-speaking and Alemannic Switzerland, in France, Germany, and England. Simultaneously, she teaches the Alexander Technique in Neuchâtel. Vincent Cuvellier dropped out of school at 16 and published his first book at 17. Since then, he has written 100 books including “The first time I was born”, “The time of Marguerite”, adapted into a film, the series “Émile”, and “The story of Clara”. Ronan Badel graduated from the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts, focusing on children's publishing as an author and illustrator. After several years in Paris teaching, he returned to Brittany to focus on creating children's albums. In 2006, he published his first comic strip: “Petit Sapiens”.

General Information
