Description

Abinash Bikram Shah (NP, 2026, 103′)
Language: Nepali Subtitles: German Pirati is the “mother”, the matriarch of a Kinnar community in a Nepalese village surrounded by forests inhabited by wild elephants, which pose a constant threat to the village. When Pirati falls in love with a man from the city, she considers leaving the community. She tells her daughter Apsara about it, and an argument ensues. Shortly thereafter, Apsara disappears. The villagers remain silent, and even the local police don’t seem very eager to take the search seriously. When Pirati begins investigating on her own, the mood shifts, and she encounters resistance – especially from the men in the village.
