Marko Buntu is a DJ, visual artist, and founder of the Iskara festival, focused on Ecstatic Dance and conscious dance events. His music is inspired by a fascination with African music, vibrant rhythms, and lively percussion, which he blends with elements of funk, R&B, hip hop, house, and techno. His journey began in graphic design and visual arts. For over a decade, he has been involved in the music and dance scene – first as a co-creator of drum’n’bass and techno parties, later as a designer of stage sets, stage design, and light installations. Playing the djembe and exploring West African rhythms gradually led him to Ecstatic Dance. His return to playing was not a sudden decision but a natural continuation of a long-term relationship with music, rhythm, movement, and audiovisual art. His sets are a lively journey that gradually unfolds and draws you deeper into dance. They start with dense, thumping beats of the earth, gently flow into flowing emotions, gain the sharpness and freedom of the wind, and finally ignite into an intense dance explosion.
