Eagles of Death Metal

Eagles of Death Metal is a rock band founded in 1998 in Palm Desert, California, by childhood friends Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme. Despite their name, the band does not play death metal; the name is meant humorously. Musically, the group combines garage rock with blues and classic rock elements. Frontman Hughes is known for his expressive stage presence. Eagles of Death Metal have released four studio albums so far: Peace Love Death Metal (2004), Death By Sexy (2006), Heart On (2008), and Zipper Down (2015). The project first gained attention in 1998 through contributions to The Desert Sessions. In the following years, the band toured internationally. In 2019, they released a cover album titled Eagles of Death Metal Present Boots Electric Performing The Best Songs We Never Wrote. Another studio album is announced for 2025. On November 13, 2015, the band played at the Bataclan in Paris when a terrorist attack occurred during the concert. A few weeks later, the band returned to the stage and continued their European tour under the title “Nos Amis”. In 2017, the HBO documentary Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends) was released about the events and their aftermath. Besides numerous tours in the USA, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, the band has also been involved in film projects, including the music for Super Troopers 2. Participants: Eagles Of Death Metal
