Description

Oil is gone. All depths drilled, all milkshakes drunk. Humanity in upheaval. Who could have foreseen? But fortunately, a hole opens in the ground, from which strange gas flows. People are delighted. There are social media trends, some throw things in, like into a wishing well. A geologist is commissioned to descend into the abyss. She is to find out whether the hole holds solutions for the hysterical post-fossil society. She is accompanied on her descent only by a cheerfully teasing recording device, with which she travels from one earth layer to the next deeper one. Upon reaching the Earth's core, the geologist finally finds an oracle, which, however, suffers from burnout, as its clairvoyance has become completely useless. Instead, it prefers to wait out the disappearance of the human species armed with a bag of chips. The geologist does not yet know that this encounter will change everything. But eventually, the oracle begins to speak a series of prophecies... Director Giulia Rumasuglia stages the visionary text by author Sarah Calörtscher at NEUmarkt into a humorously absurd evening. A journey to the center of the Earth, confronting us with traces of our past as well as questions about possible futures – somewhere between poetic sarcasm and hallucinated prophecies – until all these thwarted worlds collapse over us like a kaleidoscopic stream. General Information
