Description

Driftwood, which means "driftwood" in French, is a musical epic presented by Nordic Affect and its two distinguished guests. This program explores the theme of departure, the North Atlantic Ocean, through baroque music (such as Purcell or Locke) and folk music from Iceland, Ireland, Scotland, and Denmark. Founded in 2005 by four passionate musicians playing period instruments, united both by their attachment to tradition and their boldness to explore new musical horizons, this extraordinary ensemble appeals to audiences of both baroque and contemporary or rock music. This concert is also part of the Amplitudes 2027 program, dedicated to Norwegian composer Maja S. K. Ratkje and supported by Capitale Culturelle Suisse La Chaux-de-Fonds CCS lcdf27.
