Marcel Huwyler, born in 1968 in the Swiss village of Merenschwand, grew up in a Wagner workshop and was raised in the small Freiamt. As a child, he devoured books, wrote puppet theater, and served his parents the most incredible stories. ("Don't tell stories. And don't make such a fuss!") After seven very good (yes, really!) years of teaching as a primary school teacher, he switched to journalism and worked for various daily newspapers and weekly publications. For almost 25 years, he has been writing stories about his homeland and reports from around the world for magazines. He is fascinated by the everyday, behind which lies the extraordinary. He loves to discover and describe completely normal, unusual people. Today, Marcel Huwyler lives by a lake in Central Switzerland, where he only writes books, reads, cooks, stands on his SUP, and plays the piano.
