After last year's premiere as part of the Original Gravity Connections project, Donovan Kingjay returns to Prague! The British singer with Jamaican roots will perform a concert full of reggae, ska, and rocksteady in an unconventional setting at Malostranská beseda. You are invited to club 100, as no more people can fit in. Donovan Kingjay (UK/JAM) Donovan Kingjay is a reggae singer born in southeast London to Jamaican parents. He will be accompanied by the international ten-member band Rudeboy Paradise, full of seasoned musicians including singer Annamárie d’Almeida. He brings the authentic sound of early reggae and ska with a London twist, original songs, and surprising covers in the typical vintage style of the Original Gravity label. The repertoire and musical direction are managed by the label's head Neil Anderson, who will not be missing from the stage. A number of original tracks will be played, as well as unexpected covers. The Boss Foundation (UK/CZ) is a project by Neil Anderson, who will present a selection of the repertoire of his label Original Gravity, which is released under various names on seven-inch vinyl. This is how the British label gained international attention among fans of the authentic sound of early reggae, ska, Latin, and soul — and also airtime on the BBC. Get ready for an instrumental ride full of solos, heavy grooves, and familiar melodies. The atmosphere of the evening in the unconventional setting of Malostranská beseda will be complemented by stylish DJs, whose names will be announced soon.
