Description
With "Don Camillo," the Passion Play Community Waal brings a theatrical classic to the stage that has not lost its relevance to this day. The focus is on the passionate village priest Don Camillo and the equally temperamental mayor Peppone. Both could hardly be more different: here church and tradition, there politics and progress. They argue, discuss, provoke, and repeatedly clash – yet they are more connected than they want to admit. With humor, heart, and Italian zest for life, the play tells of community, solidarity, and the ability to live together despite differing beliefs. Especially in times of increasing social tensions, the story appears surprisingly current and shows that mutual respect is often more important than insisting on one's own opinion. Look forward to an entertaining theater evening full of lively characters, humorous encounters, and touching moments – presented by the Passion Play Community Waal in the special ambiance of the Passion Play House.
