A fairy tale musical not only about the search for true happiness. The original version of the Broadway musical Finian’s Rainbow captivated the Czech duo V+W so much that upon their return from exile, they adapted it for the Czech stage, incorporating local realities. The central character became the water sprite Čochtan, which Jan Werich crafted specifically for himself, while Jiří Voskovec directed the play. Divotvorný hrnec V+W evokes, with its kindness and gentle humor, not only the age-old wish for the victory of good over evil but also emphasizes the urgent feeling that we have only one home.
