In France an icon, in Switzerland still a hidden gem: Barbara (1930–1997), known as 'la chanteuse de minuit', shaped the world of French chanson with her poetic songs and distinctive voice. Zurich singer Caroline Ferrara dedicates an evening to the great French chanson singer, blending music and storytelling. In intimate arrangements for voice, piano, and cello, Barbara's songs resonate in their simplicity and intensity. In between, Ferrara shares stories from the artist's extraordinary life – from her childhood as a Jew in occupied France to her breakthrough and her famous song 'Göttingen', as well as her social engagement. An evening full of poetry, melancholy, fine humor, and zest for life – for lovers of French chanson and all who wish to discover Barbara.
